C-FIRST Launches CABISAM Cohort VI!
In conjunction with the School of Nursing, 57 social work and nursing students began a semester-long interprofessional experience learning about Screening, Brief Intervention, and Referral to Treatment (SBIRT) with opportunities to practice skills.

The Certificate of Advanced Brief Interventions for Substance Abuse among Multiple Communities (CABISAM) provides an inter-professional training environment for students from the School of Social Work, the Stritch School of Medicine and the Marcella Niehoff School of Nursing to learn the SBIRT model, motivational interviewing and brief negotiated interview skills.
